The Dream
My name is Ahmed Abdelhamid. I’m married, a father of two boys and a little girl, and the founder of Wooden Dream Studio.
I was born in Sudan and came to Denmark with a simple goal: to build something of my own.
Years as a technical designer and constructor taught me precision and respect for materials, and studying Product Development & Innovation at SDU sharpened my method.
A serious illness forced me to slow down; at the workbench, I found my balance again.
With my family’s encouragement, I started Wooden Dream Studio.
My first piece — the MONA Chair — was named after my daughter, who arrived as the studio took shape. It all began with a need to create something real — work I could shape with my hands and watch come to life. Wood gave me that feeling. The texture, the scent, the way each grain tells its own story drew me in. Over time, it became more than a hobby; it became a way to think, to practice patience, and to do things with intention.
Wooden Dream Studio grew from those quiet hours — from trial and error, and from a love of honest materials. Every piece I make carries a bit of that journey — shaped by hand, guided by vision, and built from the dream that started it all.
